Our brand allows for layouts in which elements butt against each other. However, in some layouts, standard elements are separated by a space or "channel." In these layouts, the channels are always white. The width of the channel will vary depending on the size of the overall layout. However, all interior channels in a layout should be the same size.

As a starting point, use these guidelines to create channels that are appropriate in scale for an 8.5" x 11" layout. For layouts with larger dimensions (e.g., a large poster), the width of the channel will NOT grow in-kind. That is to say, a layout that is twice as large should NOT have channels that are twice as large or they will "feel" too wide. Use your discretion to choose a channel width that feels right.

See the three examples here to help identify the proper width of channels.

Note: The exterior channel (exterior margin) can be wider than the interior channel depending on the nature of the project.
